Summary: Out of the ashes of two, a Grimm is born. But between two worlds, his heart is torn. Which life should he choose? For either way, he will lose.

Author’s Note: While I was watching the fight scene at the end, I kept wishing that TPTB would injure Nick. I mean, I know he’s a Grimm and a supposedly bad-ass one but still, I find it hard to believe that he got through his first fight without a scratch. SO, I’m writing it where he did get hurt. :-D Gotta love a whumper, right?! Come on, you know you love my stories.. :-D

2: Also, I’m changing a bit of the fight scene so that it not only makes sense but works for my “nefarious” purposes. Hope you don’t mind too much. ;-)

 Part I

Summary: It’s been two weeks since Oleg attacked Nick and he thinks he’s ready to return to work. What happens when others don’t agree?

Spoiler: Tag to Game Ogre. This is an AU though since Juliette is not in the picture.

Author’s Note The idea for this fic came to me as I was watching Game Ogre. I know there are a few “after Nick gets out of the hospital” fics out there but there aren’t any showing when he goes back to work so I thought I’d try to write a semi-plausible one. :-)

Part III – Unexpected Sources

 The angry Reaper charged after letting out a loud howl of rage, barely giving Nick time to react. With a strength and agility he never knew he had, the Grimm grabbed Francois’ abandoned scythe and swiped it across the Wesen’s neck. It was a clean kill. The scythe did more than cut the Reaper’s throat; it cut through to his spine, effectively cutting his brain off from the rest of his body.
